Ms. Eastburn's top issues are: balancing the budget, funding Safety, supporting business development, updating wages to allow the County to recruit and retain the highest quality employees, improving roads, and improving efficiency of departments while minimizing the impact of regulations on everyday businesses and residents of the County.
Diversity and inclusion are also top issues. While Ms. Eastburn has always felt strongly about supporting those who were underserved, she became directly impacted in 2020 when a bout of Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss hit. Ms. Eastburn is completely deaf on the left side, so please if you wish to speak, get her attention first.
Ms. Eastburn has been involved with many Boards as a Board Treasurer, Secretary, Clerk to the Board and a member of management regularly presenting financial information to a Board.
Ms. Eastburn began her involvement in Board activity and other causes starting with the PTA when her son was in elementary school. She has continued to be involved on a local level by committing funds personally and from the family business to important causes such as elder abuse, hunger and education.
During the aftermath of the Butte Fire, the family business, Calaveras Auto Supply, hosted a raffle and donated the main prize (a generator). Ms. Eastburn was instrumental in getting other businesses to donate items for this cause. The proceeds from this fundraiser were donated to the Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance ($2,500) and Calaveras Recovers ($1,000). The store also hosted a Tool Drive in which we donated tools to those who lost them during the fire so they could continue to work.
